Sisterhood Handicrafts is a social enterprise created from the
Economic Empowerment sector of Sisterhood for Development.
Sisterhood Handicrafts creates products from environmentally
friendly materials, such as: hemp, silk, cotton, bamboo, and other
natural textiles available in Laos and neighboring countries.
Sisterhood artisans adapt and sew traditional Hmong motifs as a
part of this contemporary product collection. The finished
products are designed, produced, and sold by ethnic women in
Laos. Additionally these women continue to contribute to the cycle
of economic and social community growth by training new groups
of ethnic women in Laos in business development, handicrafts
design, production, and marketing.
